Journey Through the Faith and Tradition of Portugal
A cultural and religious journey through some of the most important sites of faith on the Iberian Peninsula. From Lisbon and Santarém to Fátima, Braga, and Santiago de Compostela, this tour offers an immersive experience in the history, spirituality, and religious heritage of Portugal and Spain.
Along the way, travelers will visit renowned sanctuaries, cathedrals, pilgrimage sites, and historic cities, combining moments of reflection with the discovery of local traditions, architecture, and culture. The journey concludes with visits to Porto, Aveiro, Nazaré, and Óbidos, providing a comprehensive experience of Portugal’s rich cultural and religious heritage.

Half-day Tour Lisbon. Panoramic tour of Lisbon with a view of various important sites in the city, visiting the exterior of the Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery with time to savour the famous Belém pastries.

Walking tour of Lisbon, passing by the Church of St Anthony, the birthplace of the famous saint. Guided tour of Lisbon Cathedral (included) and celebration of Holy Mass. Then on to the Portas do Sol viewpoint.
After lunch we set off in the direction of Fátima with a stop in Santarém. When we arrive in Santarém, we visit the Cathedral (included), which was the former Jesuit seminary and the centre of formation for all the missionaries who left for the five continents. Afterwards, a moment of adoration in the Santíssimo Milagre Church, where one of the most famous Eucharistic miracles took place in the 13th century.

Visit to the little shepherds’ house and Valinhos, then the Via Crucis to the “Hungarian” Calvary. Lunch Visit to the Chapel of Apparitions, Basilica and grounds. Free time for prayer. Recitation of the Rosary in the Chapel. Dinner Candle procession.

Departure for the historic and monumental city of Coimbra, full of traditions and places of rare beauty. This is the city where St Anthony finished his studies before setting off on his mission. We also visit the tomb of Queen St Isabel of Portugal, in the convent of Santa Clara (included). Panoramic view of the city looking out over the River Mondego, the Old Cathedral and the Church of Santa Cruz, among many other historic sites.
Visit to the old and prestigious university, which trained many illustrious people in various areas of society. Continue to the city of the archbishops and capital of Minho: Braga.

Continue to Guimarães, the birthplace of Portuguese nationality. Visit to the interior of the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança followed by a walking tour of the historic city centre, where you can admire its old walls, narrow streets, palatial houses, a photo of the exterior of the castle and the statue of Founder D. Afonso Henriques. Departure for Santiago de Compostela.

This grandiose monument stands in the Plaza de la Obradoiro, a meeting place for all those who come here. Return to Portugal via the typical town of Ponte de Lima with time for shopping in the traditional shops. Enjoy the Minho countryside and arrive in Porto.

Day dedicated to Portugal’s second largest city. Panoramic view of the Cathedral, Praça da Liberdade where the statue of D. Pedro IV of Portugal (D. Pedro I in Brazil) stands, the church and Tower of Clérigos and Foz. Visit to the Stock Exchange Palace, highlighting its magnificent Arab Hall.
Cruise on a tourist boat along the Douro River, admiring the typical neighbourhoods and historic centre, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco -included.
